25 Jun If Music Be The Food of Love…
Our latest couple Natasha and Chris’ springtime wedding really hit all the right notes when they celebrated their big day recently at The Bowdon Rooms! With a unique musical theme to the day, the couple’s shared love of music was reflected in everything from their wedding cake to their table names.
From the moment that we met Natasha and Chris we were excited to bring their special day to life. We caught up with the happy couple a few months after their wedding to chat about their wedding experience. Photography of Natasha and Chris’ wedding was captured by Thomas Demol at: www.thomasdemol.co.uk
Before their big day, Natasha and Chris had hunted high and low across Greater Manchester for their perfect wedding venue. When they found The Bowdon Rooms, their search was complete. “We took a brochure home with us and decided that evening,” said Natasha. “It just felt right. It’s such a lovely building and space that we could use to make the day exactly what we wanted it to be. We especially loved the ballroom and the different areas which we hadn’t really seen at other wedding venues.”
“From the moment we chose The Bowdon Rooms the wedding planner Karen happily answered all of our questions and was really easy to get hold of her whenever we wanted to check anything. She would always make herself available if we wanted to meet in person to go over things and in the run-up to the actual wedding she stayed in constant contact. Amazing service!”
Natasha and Chris tied the knot at a ceremony at St Ann’s Church, a few miles away in Stretford before travelling to The Bowdon Rooms in a gorgeous 1930s Royale Windsor. The bride, who wore a beautiful fishtail dress with lace detailing at the back, accessorised by a fur stole, said they had a lucky escape with the weather: “The week before we got married, the ‘Beast from the East’ hit the UK so we were keeping our fingers crossed. It all turned out OK in the end!”
In fact, it was more than OK, in Natasha’s words it was “just perfect”.
Over at The Bowdon Rooms the wedding venue had been beautifully decorated with a fresh green and white colour scheme with romantic tea light flourishes, large wooden lit-up letters spelling “LOVE”, a tempting sweet table and an indulgent chocolate fountain.
The exquisite flowers were designed in a natural style by Barkers in Timperley and included white roses, astrantia and freesias alongside sprigs of eucalyptus and delicate foliage.
When Natasha and Chris first saw the venue impeccably dressed and ready for the celebrations, the couple were delighted that it looked even better than they’d imagined. Natasha said: “We were pretty certain it would look amazing but didn’t know exactly how each separate aspect would tie in together. It was wonderful to see all our points of discussion come together. The final result went beyond our expectations!”
“Our guests loved the room and the venue as a whole and how it was decorated. We had people commenting on how big and spacious the room felt compared to some weddings they’d been too where it felt cramped and there was nowhere else to go once you were in the evening room. Everyone loved the food too.”
On arrival, guests were served a delicious selection of canapes including roasted pepper and goat’s cheese mint wraps, prosciutto and sage chicken skewers and mini fish and chips.
The mouth-watering morsels continued into the main wedding breakfast with leek and potato soup, Beef Wellington, sweet potato, spinach, apricot and chick pea parcels, and a trio of desserts. And the evening guests didn’t miss out either with a tempting buffet laid on for them to fuel their dancing feet.
The couple’s love of music was reflected in a stunning three-layered cake by www.flissycakes.com with fun flavours including “Sitting on the Choc of The Bay” and table names based on live music venues such as “Academy”.
The wedding’s musical theme continued into the night with the fabulous covers band Munch taking to the stage in our fairy-lit ballroom.
Natasha is full of praise for how their suppliers worked so effortlessly alongside Karen at The Bowdon Rooms.“It was such a straightforward process,” she said. “Our photographer worked closely with the timings we’d arranged with Karen to make sure everything went smoothly.
“Our florist Barkers used their knowledge of the venue to give us the best advice, so we knew that they’d make the venue look as amazing as possible. And Flissy Cakes were so helpful designing the perfect cake to suit our theme and the feel of the venue. The icing flowers were almost too realistic to eat!”
For Natasha and Chris, The Bowdon Rooms gave their wedding day an “extra something”, an individuality that they’ll remember for ever. Huge congratulations from our whole team to an absolutely lovely couple!
