03 Nov Bunting & Floral Tea Cups
Cufflinks that read “Will you marry me?” Blue satin shoes that read “I do”… The romantic dream of Ellie and David came true here at The Bowdon Rooms, one of Cheshire’s finest wedding venues.
A sunny day in May was when this pretty floral affair took place – a charming couple within our charming, vintage setting …simply picture perfect!
The theme was vintage with a capital ‘V’! Our ballroom was decorated with flowers and homemade bunting. On each table, mismatched china tea cups, plates and sugar bowls surrounded a centre-piece in the form of a bouquet within a china tea pot. The style was whimsical, fun and utterly romantic…
Our lovely bride, Ellie, said of the venue:
“We loved the space inside and the sprung wooden floor for dancing; it was a great Edwardian building that had so much character and history – plus Karen and the team were so open to all my ideas that we didn’t want to get married anywhere else!”
By Ellie’s side was an entourage of bridesmaids, all beautifully matching in pink floral halter-neck dresses with underskirts – complementing the bride’s 1950s-style dress. The bride’s sister was matron of honour and wore the same as the bridesmaids but in a blue floral design, bringing together the pink and blue theme of the day.
At The Bowdon Rooms, we’re always on-hand to provide couples with every little detail to get their theme just right, but Ellie’s love for the vintage and unusual took her to charity shops and car boots, where she sourced pretty one-off pieces. Even the guest’s napkins were hand-sewed by the beautiful bride herself – and to make the occasion totally unique and personal, the bride had re-recorded a well-loved Bruno Mars song and danced to it down the aisle toward the groom. Not a dry eye in the building…
And for the menu… “We had an American-style buffet with burgers, chicken wings and hot dogs – it was delicious!” The Bowdon Rooms chefs are always ready and willing to tailor the menu to the requirements of our couples – bringing even more magic to the day. And this magic continued outside too…in fact we’d almost like to have taken credit for ordering the sunshine (almost!).
Emotions ran high – and not just for the bride! When our ballroom was dressed and prepped for the couple’s big day, David turned to our wedding organisers and, through his tears, thanked us for creating such a perfect space.
“I think my favourite part of the day was seeing David at the end of the aisle when I started dancing down it towards him. He was so overwhelmed and happy – I knew he was the one for me!”
And how lovely it was for The Bowdon Rooms team to receive this lovely sentiment from our bride: “Thank you for creating such a magical venue for our wedding – we loved every minute of it!”
We loved it too …Congratulations Ellie and David!
