13 Dec Cheshire Charm at The Bowdon Rooms
The Bowdon Rooms hosted another glittering occasion – this time for fabulous couple, Hayley Edwards and Tim Jennings. Fun and relaxed, it was a wedding with lots of natural charm, and amongst some great local haunts where the couple felt right at home. Adding to the Cheshire charm was a reception held at the area’s finest wedding venue. Unravelling the day’s events is content writer and blogger Nadia Danaos, with some lovely photos by Stuart Hornby Photography.
Starting as we mean to go on: Lots of pretty smiles abound, Hayley and Tim’s two daughters were part of the trio of adorable flower girls. And so the day begins!…
A staple wedding feature – the bride’s bouquet. This stunning creation by Four Seasons Florists featured romantic musky pink and cream roses, white lisianthus, sprigs of heather, gypsophila and variegated foliage. Utterly beautiful – and the ideal accompaniment to the beautiful bride (second to her groom, that is!)
Speaking of our leading man, photographer Stuart Hornby takes some great relaxed snaps of Tim and his wingmen, as they enjoy a drink before the ceremony:
With excited anticipation, it was time for the civil ceremony at Altrincham Town Hall…
About to dismount from her vintage car to join her groom, Hayley wore a stunning floor-length gown. With a figure-hugging fishtail silhouette and sweetheart neckline, it featured fine netting with intricate beading across the décoletage and sleeves. The delicately-beaded net overlay also continued throughout the design. A timelessly elegant bridal gown.
An elated embrace as they are officially announced Husband and Wife:
As the congregation gathers outside the Town Hall, the happiness for the new Mr and Mrs Jennings is clear to see. A lovely moment.

Keeping everything local and familiar was the theme weaving through this wonderful day, which seemed to play a big part of the charm of the occasion. Adding to the wedding album snaps, Hayley & Tim chose Altrincham Market House and the nearby Sugar Junction as a relaxed and fun backdrop, which obviously represent some great times the couple have shared there:
Such laid-back environs are testament to the natural ease Hayley and Tim feel with each other. It made for a peronal and uniquely wonderful photo shoot.
As a complete wedding venue, The Bowdon Rooms are also licensed to hold civil ceremonies and happy to host the wedding breakfast. We always work around the desires of our couples, and for Hayley and Tim, they chose to save the best to last with partying and dancing at our Edwardian venue.
So straight after the photos, it was over to a restaurant for their wedding meal.
With additional evening guests to the party, welcome drinks of bubbly were hosted in the bistro at The Bowdon Rooms, before the bride and groom were announced into our grand ballroom. Our couple commented, “We knew immediately that this venue was for us – it was large and seemed to work perfectly with our theme.” We love nothing more than happy guests! “Everyone commented on how wonderful the room looked and how suitable it was for weddings and large parties.”
Dressed to impress: The ballroom is always a show-stopping reception room – whether for wining and dining or partying the night away, its elegant vaulted ceiling with chandeliers, glittering fairy lights and soft voiles is Edwardian class at its best. “The room looked better than we imagined and we were so pleased when we saw it! It looked amazing – really lovely.”
And for a little expert assistance in the organisation of the big day, The Bowdon Rooms wedding planners are there to ensure everything runs smoothly… “Karen was exceptional, she went through every detail with us several times so we had confidence everything would be perfect.”
Guests also enjoyed an evening buffet whipped up by our accredited chefs. Tasty dishes included roast beef and onions, minted lamb meatballs and chilli chicken. The vegetarian option came in the form of feta and roasted vegetables, and all dishes were accompanied by a variety of sides. And a sumptuous giant sticky toffee pudding rounded off the menu.
With all the elements of an unforgettable party atmosphere, fun on the dance floor was the sure-fire way to enjoy the rest of this fabulous occasion in style. The soundtracks to the night were provided by talented DJ, Lee Stone. Our reputed sprung maple dance floor is just the ticket to keep everyone smiling. A perfect way to end the evening…
And we LOVE the bridesmaid onesie!
Hosting weddings is what we love to do best, and getting great feedback from our couples and guests makes every minute so worthwhile. “The service from the team was faultless. Everything was so positive, really well organised and we’re so happy we held our wedding with you – thank you!”
Our pleasure! Massive congratulations to the lovely Hayley and Tim Jennings!
