12 Aug “We felt the magic at The Bowdon Rooms!”
On a sun-drenched day in July, the wedding of Sara Haywood and Daniel Hughes took place at our splendid Edwardian venue. With words by Nadia Danaos and images by Matthew Plaiter, here’s how our couple’s dream was transformed into reality…
So it all begins with prep: frocks for the bride and her flower girls; final touches; and a kiss, before our bride heads for The Bowdon Rooms, one of Cheshire’s finest wedding venues..
As the bride and her entourage make their way to the venue, our groom Daniel, patiently waits in our glamorous ballroom amongst the guests:
The Bowdon Rooms is a versatile venue, accommodating both large and smaller weddings; with a licence to hold civil ceremonies so the entire celebration can be enjoyed seamlessly under one roof. And that’s how Sara and Daniel chose to do it.
In all her bridal splendour, Sara takes her steps toward the groom:
The ballroom is the larger of the two reception rooms, which can hold upto 230 guests. With its soaring domed ceiling and art deco chandeliers, it truly is an ideal space for wedding services and receptions. The lovely Sara commented: “The moment we walked into the ballroom, we felt the magic that we wanted for our special day. We knew right away that it was for us – it was amazing!”
Now officially Mr and Mrs Hughes, the couple sign the register:
And making the day even more special were the perfect flower girls…
…in their vintage-inspired dresses!
Outside in the glorious sunshine was where the congregation moved for some fabulous moments, shot by photographer Matthew Plaiter…
…and not forgetting the other dapper young man of the day….super-cute!
After these sensational snaps, it was time for some reception bubbly in the lounge – which was tastefully decorated by our bride, Sara.
The Bowdon Rooms wedding planners are always flexible with couples’ requirements, so the day will always be as unique as you are. “The organisers were very supportive of what we wanted. We felt we had Suzanne’s full focus and attention to make our day special.”
During reception drinks, our team worked tirelessly to transform the ballroom into the couple’s every desire. Everything from florists, cake suppliers, lighting and stage prep, The Bowdon Rooms takes care of all your wedding needs. “As the venue is regularly used as a music venue it was ideal for what we wanted” said Sara.
With music being a big part of Sara and Daniel’s lives, our groom serenades his bride and the party in the lounge.
Below, guests dined on a hot buffet menu, which included a Mediterranean chicken basque; Lancashire lamb hot pot, and vegetable lasagne. All accompanied by rice, salad and freshly baked breads by The Bowdon Rooms chefs. Menu choices and any dietary requirements are always taken into account, so every aspect of the day is tailored to the couple.
“As we walked into our room when it was fully dressed, it was completely overwhelming. It was exactly as we had hoped and dreamed!
Every guest commented on how personal the wedding was and how everyone had been thought of. They said how the staff were fantastic at helping the day run so smoothly, and made the day so special.”
Incredibly elegant, Sara revealed some of the names behind her bridal beauty. Pictured below, she clutches a simple yet beautiful posy of gypsophila. “The florist Barkers were superb – all the decoration and design was exactly how we envisioned. Eternity Bridal in Warrington were outstanding in ensuring the dress was perfect. Matthew Plaiter, the photographer, captured the day amazingly and Laali Botkoveli make-up was beautiful.”
Adding a fun take on a traditional three-tier cake, the bottom two tiers consisted of delicately decorated cupcakes – always a popular choice.
Every inch the happy couple: Sara and Daniel take to our sprung maple dance floor…
Then the DJ of the evening, Ian, spun the tunes while guests got up and enjoyed a boogey..
“The experience was one that we will never forget and the staff helped make that happen. Suzanne was consistently available running up to the day and helped plan a fantastic wedding.”
We were only too happy to bring the magic alive for such a wonderful couple. Warmest congratulations to the fabulous Sara and Daniel Hughes!
