18 Apr Something Borrowed, Something Blue.
Warm summer rain couldn’t put a damper on Jo and Ryan’s stunning wedding day at The Bowdon Rooms.
Elegantly taking the place of blue sky were beautiful blue and white floral bouquets, ocean blue bridesmaid dresses and a stylish deep blue suit for the smiling groom. Who needs sunshine at a wedding this bright and colourful?
Jo and Ryan decided immediately after their first visit to our beautiful Cheshire wedding venue that this was the perfect place for them. Jo said: “We knew straightaway that we’d found “the one”. We loved the space in the ballroom, particularly the high ceiling and the amazing floor. We knew we wanted a ceilidh so the floor was perfect.”
“The upstairs room was so lovely and intimate, and we adored the strong music atmosphere as this is one of our great passions.” Until then, the couple had struggled to find a venue with the same space and flexibility. “Our guests loved the venue too,” added Jo. “It was great to all be together whether dancing or at the bar!”
The wedding ceremony itself was held in our beautifully decorated ballroom which had been given a simple yet romantic styling.
Ceilidh dancing took centre stage at this lively wedding with bride, groom and guests stripping the willow and two-stepping across our fully-sprung maple dancefloor – perfect for energetic twirling and promenading.
The wedding party’s dancing exertions were fuelled by an exquisite meal made up of sharing boards of sea bass, lamb and tasty Moroccan parcels. Dessert was a tempting trio of Eton mess, chocolate mousse and lemon tart, and of course the stunning cake by Flissy Cakes of Altrincham.
Jo and Ryan were thrilled with the delicious feast: “Everyone raved about the food and we have to say it was some of the best food we’ve ever eaten.”
The happy couple worked closely with our dedicated wedding planners and got expert advice on sourcing local suppliers. These included florist Chloe Robinson, based at Altrincham Market, who created beautiful bouquets and buttonholes bursting with nigella, eryngium and daisy-like erigeron. Hale hairdresser Gemma Sheldon helped to make Jo and her bridesmaids look big-day gorgeous and the beautiful photographs were taken by Cheshire-based Katie Sidell.
Jo added: “The wedding planner Karen was really helpful suggesting potential vendors to assist with cakes and flowers. She was always on hand if we needed anything and was particularly great with the menu planning and organising timings for the day.”
“It was amazing seeing it all come together. It was so bright and beautiful. The venue and the team were perfect for our day. We adored everything about it, even the rain didn’t spoil it!”
So let’s raise a glass to Jo and Ryan and wish them blue skies and sunshine as they embark on married life together!
