21 Jun A Day to Remember for Justine & Darren
As Spring was in the air, so too was love and marriage. The fabulous Justine Bailey and Darren Langford tied the knot within the Edwardian splendour of The Bowdon Rooms. Capturing every moment of the day was Elbowroom Photography; with words by Nadia Danaos.
And so the day began with preparation, and lots of exquisite details, including a beautiful satin gown by Altrincham bridal shop, The Bridal Path…
Excited and ready for the best day of her life, our bride and her father are driven to our venue – one of Cheshire’s finest wedding venues. And, in a Bentley Beauford, they do it in serious style.
They are greeted outside our Edwardian doors by the beautiful bridesmaids in blue, and flower girls in white with blue sashes:
Time for a few gorgeous snaps before the entourage make their grand entrance…
Then, as guests – and our groom Darren – anticipate Justine’s arrival in our first floor reception room, the civil ceremony is underway:
Clearly well-loved and highly regarded by friends and family, Justine and Darren enjoyed a beautiful reading as well as being serenaded by friends during the ceremony.
It wasn’t difficult to see how very much in love Justine and Darren are…the pictures really do speak for themselves…
Now in its thirteenth year, The Bowdon Rooms is well-versed at holding weddings – big and small, to suit all budgets and themes. There are two reception rooms; the lounge is a smaller, more intimate space which provides a perfect setting for civil ceremonies.
After the vows, the wedding party make their way out into the sunshine; amid The Bowdon Rooms gardens for some seriously fabulous photos…
There was a distinct sense of fun and genuine closeness amongst the wedding party – it shone through as clear as the beautiful sky above them; and made for some great moments that our couple will undoubtedly cherish…
Slightly further afield – a mere three minute drive away – Justine and Darren were amongst the flora of Denzell Gardens; a local idyllic beauty spot which provides a simply stunning backdrop for photos.
Once the external snapshots were complete for the album, it was back to The Bowdon Rooms where the celebrations were about to commence within a room lovingly dedicated to the happy couple.
The new Mr and Mrs Langford were announced into our glorious ballroom and received by their guests:
The ballroom shimmered; themed exactly as our couple desired it. With years of experience amongst our team of organisers, we have everything covered – from cake makers, photographers, bands and top chefs. We can meet every need. To the words of the lovely bride: “The Bowdon Rooms made it everything I envisaged – and so much more! Suzanne offered so much support throughout the whole process; it was fantastic.”
Below: glittering voiles, and a few personalised touches throughout the room..
“Every guest mentioned the amazing yet alternative style of the venue and how personal it had been tailored to us. It suited us perfectly.”
Our bride added: “Everyone was immersed in the quiet retro glamour of the place – but it’s an effortless glamour, everyone instantly relaxes in the surroundings. There are no pretences, everyone just let their hair down and celebrated as soon as they arrived.”
The Bowdon Rooms is also reputed for excellent cuisine. With our chefs able to craft practically any menu our couples desire, the sit-down meal included Mediterranean chicken and an incredible tower of desserts. Justine commented, “The Bowdon Rooms menu options were so affordable and brilliant!”
Later on, a sensational buffet was also enjoyed (below). “It was amazing food!” added the bride.
..featuring here, our bride and her girls:
And there’s always room for the obligatory selfies!
Then, further laughs were had during the speeches…
…and some tears of joy…
After the speeches, a little more tradition: cutting the beautifully-designed cake, and then it was the turn of the single ladies to try their luck at catching Justine’s stunning bouquet of white roses:
After the girlie giggles, it was time for Darren and Justine’s first dance as Mr and Mrs..
And not forgetting the father of the bride…
As The Bowdon Rooms is also a well-known music venue, the soundtrack to any event is what the venue love to provide. With some great musical acts serenading guests throughout the wedding – including The Gelatos and jazz pianist Nick Steed while the party dined, this wedding venue makes every artist feel at home. After dinner, it was the turn of the final musical act, The Jailbirds (below) to seriously put the sprung maple dancefloor through its paces!
“We truly had the ‘perfect day’. You hear brides and grooms say that all the time and you never quite believe it – not until you have a team like The Bowdon Rooms to create it with you. It was the best day of our lives and I wouldn’t change our venue if I had ten times my budget. Thank you Suzanne and team!”
We were so happy to have helped realise the dream… Warmest congratulations to the lovely Justine and Darren Langford!
